I was chuckling to myself the other day, why do we still call ourselves bookkeepers? Gratefully, thanks to the digital age, there are no more “books”. No more hunching over big green ledgers and recording everything by hand.
Ok, maybe that is going back a little too far, but how many businesses are taking full advantage of the ease, security and simplicity that is available today?
It was only recently that I re-entered this world of managing business “books” and I am absolutely floored by all we can do with ease and automation, all in one place online. Any small or growing business that is not taking full advantage of this ease, seriously needs to check it out.
I remember back when I had my specialty foods business. We did have a computer and QuickBooks (it was not that long ago), but everything still had to be entered separately. We had to laboriously enter in every financial record, one, by-one, by-one. Sometimes I wondered if it might not have been easier to just stick with paper and old-fashioned books.
I think that many small business owners and managers are stuck somewhere in between these worlds. They are working online, using some automation, but still taking time out of their crowded days to do the labor and pull it all together themselves.
Now as business owners and managers it honestly is possible to go from this:
To This
Inventory, Receipts, Mileage, Billing, Banking, Loans, Coding, Payroll, Receivables, Expenses, Projects, POS, Ecommerce, Locations, Tax Preparations, and more.
All in one place.
I probably sound a bit like a salesperson, but seriously I am in awe of all that can be done with the updated QuickBooks Online and the myriad of supporting apps. Of course, few businesses need all of these, but the breadth lets one pick and choose, to personalize what is needed for their company. And with the information all being securely handled online a Bookkeeper, QuickBooks-Pro Advisor, and/or Accountant can share data and handle all the setup, recording and timely reporting needs.
Just imagine the load that this supported automation can take of your shoulders as a business owner or manager. Not only will you have so much more time for the business of your business, you will also be supplied with all the information and reporting that you need.
If you want this accuracy and ease spend a little time with our friend Google and research the possibilities, or contact me and I would be happy to set up a virtual conference to share ideas.
