After getting a degree in Economics I started my professional life in Corporate Banking. Then quickly moved through the ranks to VP and Internal Profitability Analyst. While the analysis work was interesting, the corporate banking world was not really a good personal fit for me.
At the age of 30, after bringing an amazing son into the world, I left corporate banking. Along with a colleague I opened a gourmet specialty bakery called Stringham & Smith. Our business grew and evolved into a mail order and wholesale enterprise that landed us in the New York Times and a spread in Entrepreneur Magazine.
After seven years my partner and I sold the business and I moved on to work as a small business consultant and in mid-management positions in the printing and clothing industries, while experiencing an exciting journey of self-discovery.
I have now settled back into a quiet life in Portland, Oregon and a career in service to small and growing businesses through virtual bookkeeping & cost accounting.
My experience in a diverse range of businesses gives me the knowledge and vision to easily understand almost any business from the inside out. Not only their reporting and number crunching needs, but also the special obstacles and challenges that they face.
As I said in the introductory video, I love small and growing businesses. I am enthralled with the ingenuity, innovation, independence and drive to prosper and thrive that is so often shown and I love to contribute to their success.
If you think I might be able to assist you lets meet on Zoom and talk about your business and your needs. Use this Contact Form to tell me a bit about your business and to set up a time for a free virtual consultation.
I look forward to talking to you soon!
